If you are comfortable giving presentations:
"I enjoy giving presentations and think I am fairly good at it, but of course there's always room for improvement! The most challenging presentation I recall was my very first one. I was nervous, had technical difficulties, and the audience asked some tough questions. Due to the technical challenges, I had to forego the PowerPoint I had prepared and present from memory alone. In the end, I conveyed all the ideas I wanted to, but the delivery could have been smoother. Since then, I've taken some free courses online to improve in this area and delivered a few presentations I'm proud of."
Discuss your comfort level with giving presentations and share any formal training you have in public speaking, if applicable. If you have delivered a challenging presentation recently, this question is a great opportunity to give a brief story-based example. Discuss what made the presentation challenging and how you ensured your ideas were understood and well-received. If you don't have much experience but feel confident, that's okay! Express your confidence and eagerness to give presentations when needed. If you are uncomfortable speaking in front of a group, let the interviewer know that while giving presentations isn't a strength of yours, you're willing to practice and learn.
If you are not very comfortable giving presentations:
"I haven't had many opportunities to give presentations in a professional setting, but I would be open to practicing in small groups and working toward developing better skills in this area."
