"I recently completed a product marketing project for a local furniture store. They were preparing to introduce a new line of office furniture that deviated quite a bit from the rest of their offerings, which are mostly dining tables, chairs, and beds. Once I identified the target audience and built out a buyer persona, I started brainstorming marketing strategies. The company wanted to focus on online marketing, so my first step was mapping out ideas for a new landing page within the company's website so they could highlight the new line. I incorporated the company's branding, but I also added new interactive design elements so the page would stand out and keep consumers there longer. I suggested adding an "in-home trial" option to entice buyers into the "risk-free" mindset, and the company agreed. Furniture visualization apps are also becoming more common, so I worked with a freelance app designer to create an easy-to-use app that consumers could download to see how the furniture they were interested in would look in their home. I also incorporated promotional discounts into the app. To drive traffic to the website, I created content for Instagram and Facebook, since the audience analysis pointed to these two platforms as the ones where our target demographics were most present. This project was unique because we added several interactive elements that the company has since started incorporating on other landing pages."
