Product marketing is about more than just being creative and coming up with effective calls to action. You'll also need to think strategically about customer retention and how to prevent customer turnover. The interviewer is asking you about customer churn to gain insight into your experience level and see if you have any new strategies to bring to the table.
If you're not familiar with the term customer churn, or don't have any strategies for improving customer retention, spend some time researching the topic before the interview. Regardless of your experience level, your answer should be confident and well-informed. If you have direct experience in this area and can cite impressive results, share those details!
"There are several ways to reduce customer churn, but I like to prioritize analyzing it right when it happens. As soon as there's a drop in customer retention, I'll review the analytics to see what might not be working as well as intended and then make adjustments in those areas. Bringing in some effective content marketing can have a positive impact on reversing churn. I've also had success with offering incentives and sending proactive communication to the existing customer database."
