"I have observed several unhealthy practices within organizations. First, I would say that organizations that rely too heavily on hierarchical structure stifle innovation. Chain of command can be critically important, but it is equally important for everyone to have a voice and respect that great ideas can come from anywhere at any time.
Secondly, I have witnessed organizations with a lot of infighting among their leaders. The entire company is negatively affected when leaders fail to align and support each other.
Finally, I feel unhealthy organizational behaviors arise when companies fail to offer opportunities for their employees to maintain their health and balance in their professional and personal lives. Employee performance may increase for a period when people are pushed to perform, but quality issues arise when burnout sets in. I find that companies thrive when their employees are allowed regular downtime and flexibility options that support their well-being."
