What do you do when members of your crew have a conflict?

Your responsibility is to deal with disputes between team members and keep the workplace free from conflict. Assure the interviewer that you are not afraid to step in and handle conflict when it arises. Focus on describing your conflict resolution and leadership skills when handling tension between team members.

Avoid saying that you would do nothing and let the team members work it out. If you do not acknowledge there is a problem and work to fix it, the interviewer will question your leadership and conflict resolution skills.

"When members of my crew have a conflict, I immediately work to fix the problem. I ask to speak with the individuals privately and ask them what the issue is. I hear both sides and then ask them how to fix the problem. I then try to reach a mutually acceptable agreement. When I deal with conflict in the workplace, I like to remind both parties that we are a team and we need to work together and have each other's back."
