How familiar are you with OSHA standards?
As a Construction Superintendent, it is your job to know and comply with the construction industry's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. You will be required to understand the standards and enforce them to prevent illness and injury in the workplace. The interviewer wants to hear that you know the standards to determine if you have the experience they are looking for in a Construction Superintendent.
Name some of the OSHA standards to show that you are knowledgeable about workplace safety. You can mention how many years of experience you have following the standards, how you enforce them within the workplace, and how you stay up-to-date on any changes. If you have had specific OSHA training or certifications, mention that in your response.
If you want to be considered for the position, avoid saying you are unfamiliar with OSHA standards. If you are unfamiliar with the standards, research the guidelines OSHA has set forth and review the criteria for the construction industry. You can find all of the information on OSHA's website.
