Some of our projects require our Construction Superintendent to travel for months at a time. Will traveling be an issue for you if hired?

If traveling is not an issue for you, focus on your excitement about the opportunity to travel to new places. If traveling for extended periods will be an issue, be honest and explain why. If you have a valid reason for not being able to leave for months on end, the interviewer may have compassion and try to figure out how they can work around that if they choose to hire you.

Avoid saying that traveling will not be an issue for you if it will create a hardship. If the interviewer spends time and money hiring and training you to find out you cannot travel, the interviewer will be disappointed, and you may lose your job.

"No, traveling for months at a time will not be an issue for me if hired. I am single and have no obligations. I enjoy traveling and am excited for the opportunity to do so with your company."
