People decide to attend law school for a variety of reasons. Some people love to argue and they want to be in a courtroom. Others love to negotiate and they want to facilitate transactions. There are some people who do not have specific goals when starting law school and use the experience to decide how to best use their education after graduating. Overall, there is no wrong answer. This question helps the hiring partner better understand you as a person. They are interested in your observations and what you learned about yourself during your time in law school. They want to know that you have thought through your different options and it wasn't something that you just decided you should do - it's something that you truly wanted to do.
