Why did you choose a profession as an Activity Director?
The interviewer wants to hear what inspired and motivated you to become an Activity Director. It may be that you were first introduced to the position while working as an Activities Assistant, you have a friend or family member who said you would be an excellent Activity Director, or a professor or guidance counselor recommended you pursue this profession. Describe the reason you chose to pursue this career.
"I chose to pursue a career as an Activity Director after working for six months as an Activities Assistant. The director I worked for said I had the skills and leadership qualities to make an excellent Activity Director. The director became my mentor and helped me to achieve my certification. I could not imagine working in any other profession."

I have worked with all ages of adults and children, and while I enjoy working with people in general, this is the population that I have most loved working with. Watching residents' face light up when they hear a song that they love, accomplish a meaningful task, or just plain enjoy themselves is very motivating to me. This is why I am choosing to return to this field and plan to make it my life's mission to serve this population.
