"During my time working with ALSAC, the fundraising branch of St. Jude Children's Hospital, I was responsible for overseeing the expansion of field offices into the East Asian region. My countries included Japan, India, Thailand, and South Korea. The first step in this process was traveling to each region and meeting with healthcare leaders to determine the need and viability of the expansion effort. Next, I had to establish government contacts to get buy-in and delineate to my organization's leadership the details of the process to open offices in each location. This process took several years, but we were able to open these offices in a timely manner and take our work global."

"I have been fundraising for a large, international nonprofit organization for the past five years. In that time, I have seen the ways that new technologies have allowed us to increase revenue at home and abroad. In this role, I have managed over a dozen international fundraising campaigns to support refugees seeking asylum in the United States. By carefully studying each region the refugees we serve fled, I was able to understand the sociopolitical climate and craft messaging around that. I leveraged a vast network of social media accounts to encourage followers to give double what they normally would during a given month focused on refugee awareness. My team crafted informative videos, email blasts, and YouTube advertisements to further raise awareness in countries where people have access to YouTube.
