Wayfair emphasizes how their people are team-oriented; the accomplishments of the team supersede the recognition of the ambitions of any one person. "We presume good intent while prioritizing impact. We balance confidence and candor with humility and kindness. We are a team of open-minded individuals that are driven by data rather than egos, who support each other through both success and failures. Here, you will not only join our established culture, but actively share and contribute to it."
Your interviewer is trying to assess your approach to furthering your career goals. They want to determine whether you have a large ego and claim credit for the accomplishments of your teams or if you are more team-oriented and give credit where credit is due when others have participated in your accomplishments to further the goals of your teams.

"I consider delegation fifty percent communication and fifty percent playing to the strengths of those you are delegating to. If a task seems appropriate to delegate to a member of the team who can do it better than anybody else, even better than me, they deserve credit for that. I was recently spearheading a project where I did just that. I thoroughly explained the role each member of our team had to play and how their efforts fit into the grand scheme of things. I assigned those tasks to their unique strengths and skill sets, and the project was hailed as a success. When managing it like that, I can only claim so much credit for the group effort. I couldn't have made it happen without them."

In my current position, teamwork is extremely important. Especially during the creative process, there are many small and big decisions to be made and we always support each other when someone needs help. So the exchange of feedback and opinions definitely gives me strength and makes me more confident. Recently, for the Spring/Summer collection of this year, my team and I have been approached by LEGO to create an exclusive capsule collection. I've been given the responsibility of the project which came on top of my regular workload. I'm very proud of the outcome, there's been loads to do, in addition to the budget planning, designing, and price negotiation, I've been also in charge of the photo campaign and the overall look and presentation of the collection. The support of my team colleagues was crucial, during each step of the way. They helped me make the final decisions on the colors and prints, my team lead supported me in establishing the price range we wanted to place the collection in, our team assistant took care of the sample process and I split with her the supervising of the photoshoot campaign for the launch.
I really appreciated it, because it took extra hours out of and on top of our regular schedule and since it was a big opportunity for our brand, I felt more confident having my team behind me.

Jaymie's Feedback
Being trusted to lead such an important project is an honor in itself! You explained the project well, your role, and your team members. How long did it take to complete this project? Can you go into more detail on the overall impact of completing this project? Was there a positive financial impact?
