"I'd approach them in private and tell them what I have observed in their performance. I would offer to help them in any way I could. If I have communicated effectively with empathy and support, and if they were open to it, I would try to mentor them, shadow them, identify their growth opportunities and help in any way I could. I'd identify their strengths and capitalize on those points to enhance where they are struggling or failing to meet expectations and go from there. A team should always identify their teammates' strengths and never exploit their weaknesses. We support each other to reach our mutual goals. So, in short, if I saw a fellow team member underperforming, I would do everything I could to help support them and their professional development."
