Kevin Downey has an extensive background in business management, recruiting, branding and marketing. He's volunteered his career coaching services at job fairs, lecturing on interview techniques and crafting winning resumes and cover letters.

"I'd approach them in private and tell them what I have observed in their performance. I would offer to help them in any way I could. If I have communicated effectively with empathy and support, and if they were open to it, I would try to mentor them, shadow them, identify their growth opportunities and help in any way I could. I'd identify their strengths and capitalize on those points to enhance where they are struggling or failing to meet expectations and go from there. A team should always identify their teammates' strengths and never exploit their weaknesses. We support each other to reach our mutual goals. So, in short, if I saw a fellow team member underperforming, I would do everything I could to help support them and their professional development."
