What You Need to Know
The employee culture at SpaceX is known for long hours, non-stop, where you spend most of your time with your teammates. This question is a personality check to unravel what makes you tick, what motivated you to pursue this field, and what drives your passion beyond your resume. It is an icebreaker question designed to get you to relax, get you out of interview mode, and show who you are as a person. How you answer will help them assess how well you'll fit in and whether you are made of the right stuff.

"From an early age, I have been incurably curious. I used to take apart all of our appliances and put them back together, which drove my parents crazy. I can be a bit obsessive-compulsive when working on a project. I have trouble stopping and letting go of what I am working on. I tried to fight it, but then I'd lose sleep thinking about it and eventually quit trying to sleep and kept working on a project until I needed to sleep. I have never been a quitter. I firmly believe any obstacle can be overcome. Where there is a will, there is a way."
