Most companies in the aerospace and defense industry need to be very cautious about who they hire, and SpaceX is no exception. There is a chance that much of the information you are going to access could be confidential and dangerous if put into the wrong hands. Assure the interviewer that you will not hesitate to comply with any form of background check they require. Additionally, if you are concerned about what might come up on your background check, such as credit issues, explain your circumstances and present the context of your situation. Approaching with transparency shows more integrity than not mentioning it and hoping they won't notice.
