"Last year in my current role as a Project Manager, I was leading a team that was focused on implementing a new philosophy on lean principles for one of our product lines. Upon our first meeting as a group, it was very apparent that a lot of the team members hadn't even met in person and all had very differing opinions as to the status of the production line and where it needed to be. Normally as a Project Manager, I want to get down to the brass tacks as soon as possible. But in the case of this team, I decided to take a unique approach to our next meeting by having fun icebreakers for the team to get to know each other and I had each team member write a brief bio on themselves for me to present to the rest of the team. I'm very happy with the approach that I took because our meetings and project from that point on went very smoothly based on the newfound cohesiveness of the team!"

"In my current role as a Corporate Sales Trainer, I try to be creative in my approach with the sales staff at all times because a fun and creative environment is the best way for sales staff to both learn and take the skills learned with them on the road. Last year, I was asked by our Senior Executives to give a training to a sales department that was responsible for phone and e-sales. Knowing that this group was generally stuck behind a desk for the day, I made their training fun and engaging by taking it to an outdoor pavilion at a local park. I worked with our IT staff to have the appropriate technology onsite at the park and the training ended up being a real hit."

I had a difficult time trying to make an appointment with a physician. I knew there was a lot of opportunity and growth with this practice. They didn't see reps for lunches or meetings. I was able to reach out to the office manager. I asked her what organizations the physician was affiliated with in the area. I was able to help sponsor one of the meetings to set up initial discussions.

Rachelle's Feedback
Smart thinking! Using this creativity, were you able to build a relationship with the physician in the end?
