Each new hire is an opportunity to bring a fresh set of eyes to the department. The interviewer wants to gain insight into your creative side and see what kind of ideas you have. Your example doesn't need to be a significant event; even the simplest process improvements can make a huge difference.

"I noticed the team wasn't utilizing all of the features within our EMR. There were some simple ways to avoid multiple clicks taking you to multiple screens. I hadn't used this EMR before but figured this out within a few weeks, just by learning and exploring the system. I made my team aware and showed everybody what I'd learned, and now they can get to things faster."

"Our team relies heavily on Excel spreadsheets. A feature within our database allowed us to export files to Excel. The team used that feature regularly, but I figured out how to set up a feed to automate the reports. This automation saved about 2 hours of work each week. Now all of the right people receive the reports automatically."
