"No problem. I understand that it's part of the job. But I want to be up-front, I have done a full background check before, and there is a possibility you will see a charge for possession of marijuana in the check. It was several years ago, and it's no longer an issue for me because I've made significant changes in my life to pursue this career. But I don't want you to be surprised by the information. I'm happy to answer any questions you have and can assure you my drug test will come back negative."

Cedars-Sinai invests a lot of money to perform drug tests and background checks on applicants. If you will not pass the drug test or background, you will be disqualified as a candidate. It is best to be honest in your interview if you have something in your past so the interviewer can decide if they want to move forward in the hiring process.
