In this age of identity theft, a customer's private information must be handled with great discretion and care. Share with the interviewer that you recognize this and are willing to take extra steps to protect any private information you are entrusted with.

"I have had my identity stolen, so I know how important it is to keep things like social security numbers away from prying eyes. I would be careful about not leaving these kinds of things out in the open for anyone to see. I would never give out the information to anyone except my supervisor or a finance director who might be communicating with a bank."

"In my previous position, there was a huge fine if our supervisor caught us leaving out private information on our desk. I learned how important it is to make sure that everything is in the right folders and that this information is kept locked so that no one has access to it."
