Working as a Pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy can be overwhelming, with demanding customers in-person, in the drive-through, and on the phone. That can mean several competing priorities at one time. Your interviewer wants to know that any Pharmacist they hire can prioritize tasks and work through those priorities quickly.

"At the beginning of my shift, I like to have a quick huddle with the team on staff that day in the pharmacy to discuss any issues. That helps set the stage for open communications throughout the day. A couple of months ago, two staff members had to go home with a bad stomach illness. Prioritization became key because it was a busy day. I worked through the customers in the store first, like I always do, but this time with a more keen eye and urgency. When we had an empty counter, we handled the phone calls and other administrative tasks. In the meantime, we called other staff to see if they could join our shift, and we were fortunate to find one person to come in."
