"Having had formal training and experience in healthcare quality initiatives, I always keep an eye out for process improvements that either cut waste, cut costs, or improve the customer experience. Two years ago, my employer noticed a significant increase in customer traffic in the early evening hours. Over one week, I tracked the number of customers in two hours and compared it to years prior on the same date, and it was easy to see we were busier. I approached our Pharmacy Director about both looking into increasing staff during those hours and adding a second till to our check-out area. The director thanked me for my suggestions and quickly implemented a few changes."
