How have you promoted fundraising events in the past?

Tell the interviewer about your advertising experience. Whether you worked with communications staff to create digital, print, or broadcast media or developed these materials yourself, share with the interviewer details about how you advertised your fundraising event. Then, share specific attendance numbers. This will demonstrate your ability to execute an effective advertising campaign.

"Any time I plan a special event, I work closely with our communications team to develop material that will be relevant and exciting to our target audience. Sometimes we want to engage new donors. Sometimes we are hoping to reignite the interest of lapsed donors. I always defer to the professionals when it comes to communications strategies while also providing my insight in terms of what makes donors tick. As such, I have worked on radio and television spots, digital and print ads, social media campaigns, and more. I am very comfortable working in a communications space, and I enjoy crafting messages that will motivate community stakeholders to attend our events."
