Consultants are often highly competitive individuals working in high-stakes business environments where the competition is stiff! Show the interviewer that you do not see competition as an intimidating factor but rather an opportunity to become better. Be prepared to talk about a time when you were placed in a competitive situation and thrived. Your example should be work-related.

"On a scale of 1-10, I rank my competitiveness an 8. I like to compete internally, and I will create small milestones to achieve each day. For instance, if I cold call 50 new prospects in under 3 hours, then I can reward myself in a small way. I will play games like this throughout the day until all of my goals are met or exceeded. When it comes to being competitive in a team setting, I like to rise above the rest by being the hardest worker and the fastest to respond when a client is in need. As a Consultant, I am only as successful as my team. For that reason, I value uplifting my team members and helping them to succeed first."
