"I think I remember this one. It follows the Archimedes principle, doesn't it? When the anchor is in the boat, it contributes to the mass of the boat due to its buoyancy and its weight distribution, causing the water level to rise. Should the smaller and denser object of the anchor be dropped in the tank and it rests on the bottom, the mass of the boat is reduced, increasing its buoyancy, and the water level would go down. However, if the anchor did not touch the bottom, and were to be below the boat, pulling down on it and still contributing to its increased weight distribution, and also entering the water, the water level would rise almost imperceptibly due to it also entering the water and increasing its volume. Is that right?"
