"Well, I can't speak for the other candidates who I haven't met. I can only speak for myself. I've mentioned I'm a positive person. I pride myself on my attitude and outlook on life. I've achieved this level of confidence in myself by being honest with myself at all times. If you want to be an honest person, you have to start with being honest with yourself. I don't know too many people who can do that. So this requires enhanced communication skills, which can be applied to yourself just as much as it is applied to others. So I chalk up my high level of emotional maturity to that. I'm always on the lookout for the truth when it comes to everything, so, as a result, that mindset has gifted me with a high level of attention to detail that I apply to everything. This goes hand in hand with my strong work ethic. Integrity is my number one core value. So, I'm a self-starter and a team player around the clock. But all of this stuff all boils down to my happy-go-lucky attitude"

Your interviewers are asking you what sets you apart from the other candidates. They are counting on you being able to self-identify what makes you uniquely qualified for this position. They are asking you to give them an obvious reason why they should hire you.

Your hard skills are those which end up on your resume, from being versed in specific software to tangible, trainable skills. Your soft skills are usually those which don't translate well into paper, such as strong interpersonal skills. The ten most common traits an interviewer looks for in a candidate are confidence, honesty, strong communication skills, being adaptable and flexible, reliability, having strong attention to detail, being self-motivated, having a strong work ethic, and being a team player with a positive attitude.
