The average HireVue interview takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. This one-way video interview typically includes 3-5 questions. Depending on the HireVue parameters set by Intuit, the asynchronous interview platform will generally give you 30 seconds to prepare a response and up to 2 minutes to answer each question. It's important to note that HireVue stops recording as soon as your time limit is up, so it's better to run under time than overtime.

"(Situation) As Sales Manager with Company XYZ, my team must successfully collaborate during our final business quarter to ensure we are on track to exceed targets before year-end. We put in overtime shifts and bring our targets to a close together as one cohesive team. (Task) During year-end, I take the role of the project lead. (Action) I work diligently to ensure streamlined processes and that each team member feels like a valued contributor. My approach during these high-demand times is to encourage the team to deliver their best work while being a helpful resource to their team members. (Result) Our team wrapped up the year with such incredible enthusiasm that we exceeded our annual sales target by 26%. The experience was so encouraging. Team conflict was minimal, despite the mental strain everyone felt. Intuit believes that we are 'stronger together,' and I appreciate that the company hires people who champion diversity, inclusion, and a respectful environment. I like that the company thrives on diverse voices to challenge and inform decisions. If hired, I will prioritize active leadership and contribute to this culture of inclusivity, partnership, teamwork, and results."

Our Department developed a team to implement our new work order software. I developed step-by-step instructions for our 80 Custodians and presented all the training to these individuals. It has been successfully running for over three years now. I still utilize the same training documents to train new hires.

Great! It's clear from this example that you successfully contributed to the team's goal. What program did you use to develop the instruction manual? How exactly did you carry out the training? At once by presenting in front of all 80 custodians or did you break them into groups? Giving more details will allow you to elaborate and point out more of your strengths (e.g., public speaking, teaching others, computer skills, etc.) It's great that this training continues to be used. Excellent!

Our largest vendor began using kiosks for customers to order products in stores. My team was tasked to fill in our vendor's spreadsheets to upload our product information for our products in order to populate the kiosk. This was time-consuming and attention to detail was crucial. The task was completed within our vendor's timeframe and we had a successful implementation.

This answer has a great foundation! You can build on this response by adding in your role on the team and what elements of the team you feel contributed to the overall success. Perhaps it was communication, working together to map out priorities and milestones, delegating tasks, or having accountability or agile meetings. Those are all key skills the interviewer will be looking for when asking this question.

So, while working at a tax firm I noticed the client's documents were not organized and labeled properly which delayed tax preparation. I implemented a more streamlined workflow by categorizing and labeling and making sure the same documents were not stored at multiple locations thereby reducing my team's time in preparation and filing of taxes.
