"I am guided by my sense of honesty and my sense of loyalty. I have a great deal of integrity. I have trouble understanding those who don't don't also embrace these values. About a year ago I had a supervisor advise me to do something that was a violation of our code of ethics. I refused. They threatened disciplinary action if I didn't do what they said. In the end, I suggested they do it themself, rather than asking someone else to do something unethical for them. They backed down, and I reported the incident to their superior. Unfortunately, there were no protections in place to prevent retribution, and things became difficult for me there, so I ended up leaving the position and found another more in line with my values."

Prepare for your interview by reading through their code, which can be easily found online, and think of examples in your professional experience of where you met their standard. "You may one day observe conduct that concerns you. Speak up. Use your common sense and professional judgment. Act honestly and ethically. Please read our new Code carefully and apply the principles in your daily work. It provides the tools to guide you in making the right decisions when facing dilemmas.
