How do you manage a large workload?
Schedules and workloads change frequently, and BC Hydro is no exception. Oftentimes, you may feel you are under pressure to produce work and produce a large amount all within a short or small deadline. Approach this question with a positive note, and help the interviewer understand how you manage these stressful workloads. Explain specific ways you manage it. Think about prioritization methods, calendar organization, and other related tools.
"I adapt quickly to be able to manage a large workload. I tend to break down my workload into more manageable pieces and smaller tasks. I will use a to-do list and check off things as I accomplish them. I understand at BC Hydro that workload and responsibilities will change frequently and I'm happy to be kept on my toes."
"I like to identify which tasks are a high priority and which tasks are a low priority. Higher priority tasks, I like to focus on completing first. I also review these priorities with my manager to ensure we are in alignment. Through this system, I can focus on my tasks individually, rather than stress out by the multitude of tasks ahead of me. I know that providing excellent customer service is super important for BC Hydro, so typically customer related interactions take priority depending on the task."
