QUESTION 22 OF 30

When does an “onsurfacechange” occur?

This is a follow-up to a question you were asked earlier in the interview. It is not uncommon for interviewers to ask follow-up questions. They use these to explore a topic in more detail or collect additional information. In this case, the interviewer is asking you about a term that is similar but different from the term you were asked about earlier. They want to ensure that you know the distinction between the two terms.

When you are asked a follow-up question that sounds similar to one you were asked earlier in the interview, you may want to ask the interviewer a clarifying question. This will ensure that you understand the interviewer's question and provide them with the information they seek. Not asking a clarifying question may result in you providing the wrong information or answering the question incorrectly. Interviewers appreciate you clarifying their questions when the question may be confusing or repetitive.

"When an Android device user changes the orientation of the device and therefore the screen, the dimensions of the screen are altered. This invokes an onsurfacechange in the video game software. An onsurfacechange ensures that the game's images are being rendered properly for the screen's orientation."
