"While Java is not the primary language I use when developing games, I occasionally will use it if the organization I am working for has designated it as one of their standard languages. I prefer to use other object-oriented languages, such as Python. While Java does have a large collection of libraries, much of the code contained in these do not relate to video game development. Also, using Java for video games creates problems involving non-deterministic memory management. Finally, most of the popular game consoles do not support Java. This limits the market to online and PC-based gaming."
