QUESTION 24 OF 30

Can you describe some of the common gaming engines used for developing video games?

One of the unique features of developing video games instead of other software applications is that video games use a feature known as engines. These help developers organize their code and generate the elements required to render the images used to create the videos within the game. Interviewers will ask you about these to understand which engines you are familiar with. They are also curious whether the ones you use align with those used by their current development team.

Before any interview, you should thoroughly research the organization, the games they develop, and the tools and techniques used by their development team. This will enable you to be prepared for the questions you will be asked during the interview and align your answers with the processes and procedures utilized by the organization. As a prospective new employee, you should refrain from making suggestions or promoting new processes and procedures during the interview. You could do this later once you've been hired and thoroughly understand how the organization functions.
