When asked this type of question by an interviewer, they seek to understand your ability to keep projects on schedule and experience performing quality control tasks. As a senior staff engineer, it is your responsibility to keep the team on task and on schedule. Even though you may have responsibilities for developing some of the code use of the project, you also need to make sure everybody else is performing their job. This involves collaborating with your team and other parts of the organization, including the quality engineers, project managers, and then users. It would be best if you were prepared to discuss the techniques and tools you use to accomplish this.
