If I had authority in this management position to hire, I would look for a balance of skills and experience, passion, and an eagerness to learn. I would pay attention to their preparedness for the interview, how they present themselves, consider their personality and demeanor - will it fit with the team, with the campers, and I would want to know how they think, and problem solve.
