"While I try to avoid making a mistake, it will happen on occasion. What is even more challenging is when one of my team members makes a mistake that impacts everyone. I recognize that it is not my responsibility to discipline the team member but rather to help correct the mistake as quickly as possible and get the project back on schedule. I've found the most effective way to accomplish this is to involve the person who made a mistake and collaborate on the solution. They usually recognize their error and have already begun thinking of a fix. Additionally, this becomes a learning experience for both of us. Once the issue is resolved, I document it in the operations manual in case it recurs."
