The information technology industry is fast-moving, constantly evolving, and ever-changing. New technologies are developed on almost a daily basis, and keeping up with these can be daunting. To be a successful IT engineer, you have to learn about these new developments to have a specific plan to keep up with them. The interviewer wants to make sure that you are current with contemporary technology and maintain your currency once hired. Be prepared to describe how you do this and some of the resources and tools to accomplish this task.

These include industry newsletters and blogs, technology magazines, information published by equipment and software vendors, industry conferences, and participating in local user groups. I also spend time talking to my peers in the information technology organization and asking them about new developments they are aware of."
