Those written affirmations were the boost of confidence that I needed many days. I love the quote from Josh Shipp that says 'Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story.' It's absolutely true and this teacher lived by that philosophy."

My ESL teacher is very special as she played an important role at my- young age. She helped me learn English, and she did more than just being a teacher. She wrote letters to me so I would write back to her which ultimately improved my writing and language skills.

I had a science teacher in 8th grade who had us dissect a heart once. She also showed us a video about reconstructive surgeons who do charity work that change peoples' lives around the world. I will never forget the impression this had on me. I think this is where my love for science started. I wanted to help people using science. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in science or healthcare.
