"As a High School teacher, I have had my fair share of experience with disruptive students. Because I am teaching teenagers, and not children, my philosophy is to treat them the same as an adult. I will let them know that they are being disruptive and will give the student the option of ending the disruption, or leaving the classroom."

From my experience, I have used simple techniques such as eye contact, proximity, and reminders about my classroom rules. However, if these techniques are not productive, I would take the student aside, talk to him/her to find out why they are disruptive. I will remind them that it will not be tolerated as it will affect other students. Even, I would speak to their other teachers to see if it is a problem in their class as well. I may contact parents as well to inform this issue.
