Seeing your students learn new concepts and succeed as functional being in society is beyond rewarding. Also, being there for them to show compassion when they are emotionally disturbed is rewarding.

I think the most rewarding experience is when students finally have an "Ah-hah" moment - that moment when they finally learned something and get it. Also, forming relationships with students who come back to you even years later to say "Hi" and let you know what a positive impact you've had on their lives.
