Keep the majority of your questions academically oriented and maintain a respectful tone. Ask them for their advice and what they are looking for in their students. Ask them what characteristics they identify in their rising talent. Ask them for any advice for those who want to rise to the top, and what they feel it takes to get there. Ask as many questions along these lines as possible. They've already been there and know what they're looking for. Lean on as much of their wisdom as they're willing to share. By doing this, you'll exhibit the type of student you'll be with their faculty.
