Your interviewer is curious whether you would thrive or flounder working under the leadership culture they've created within their company. Additionally, with a heavy focus on developing their future leaders from within, how you answer this question stands to offer clues as to the type of leadership you would model your own style after. So spend time familiarizing yourself with the leadership style they describe fostering, and see how it aligns with the mentors you've had who influenced your development the most.
"I work really well with managers who are patient, are strong coaches, clear communicators, and who exemplify a transformational, inspirational leadership style. Where they are somewhat democratic, and trust and empower their people to be self-managed in their work, so long as they've been equipped with the tools to do the job well. Where they participate in and support your development."

I believe that I have worked successfully in both a close working relationship with lots of feedback and accountability as well as in a working environment with lots of personal space and autonomy.
