What motivates you in your job?
This question is aimed at determining what motivates you and contributes to your job satisfaction. How you answer this question should inform your interviewer of whether you'd be a reliable and sustainable employee, versus only being motivated by the money and benefits, which suggests you're up for the highest bidder. "I've been called an over-achiever more than once, and I suppose being awarded with a chance to grow and develop my career with consistency is a major motivator for me. Also, working in a beautiful place, as well as working outdoors. But most of all, working with leadership and teams where they really care and look out for each other. Empathy, words of kindness, encouragement, and recognition are worth a lot. That, more than anything, makes you feel like you are a part of something bigger than yourself."
Beyond heavily focusing their efforts on sustainability, Teck advertises that they have a lot to offer when it comes to helping their employees sustain a strong work-life balance, with many positions even offering remote work, and even a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off.

I think recognition for a job well done is important to facilitate further growth, both personal and career-wise. Therefore, any words of praise or recognition from a co-worker, supervisor, or mentor would be a great motivation for me.

You might also mention written praise, positive feedback from your manager, financial bonuses/rewards, perks like extra time off, or public recognition/celebrations if any of these methods also resonate with you.
