How many languages do you speak? Are you interested in learning a new language?

The languages a person chooses to speak hold clues to the cultures a person finds of interest. Sharing what languages you speak will offer insights into the cultures and languages you gravitate towards. For example, if you speak Spanish, you'll likely be more adept at learning other romance languages. If you speak German, you're off to a good start, and would likely learn other germanic languages with greater ease.

If you don't speak any language aside from your native language, it couldn't hurt to learn a few phrases in German, and familiarize yourself with a bit of that culture prior to going into the interview. Whether through cinema or history, exhibiting a genuine interest can go a long way here.

"Aside from English, I speak a little Spanish and know enough German where I can tease apart enough to skate by when listening, though I don't speak it very well. I learned a bit of German long ago. It's amazing how similar to English it is. I feel like I could pick that one up pretty quickly."
