The interviewer needs to know that they can count on you to arrive at work by your assigned time every day. Assure the interviewer that you are a punctual person and that you take your responsibilities seriously. Proper planning will get you far, but sometimes life happens. Think about some of the variables in your life that could affect your ability to arrive on time for work, such as sick children, traffic, car breakdowns. It may not be possible for everything to work out so smoothly, so show that you are proactive when an unexpected hiccup arises.

"I am a very punctual person, so this situation happens very rarely. If I were to be late, I would communicate my tardiness to my boss immediately, by a phone call or text, and then do everything in my power to get to work as soon as possible."
