"I understand that different companies require different functional structures; however, I appreciate that Netflix's Talent Team encompasses Recruiting, Employee Services, and our Human Resources Business Partners. I have recently heard about a few fascinating recruitment strategies, listening to interviews with recruitment thought leaders such as Hung Lee, the curator of Recruiting Brainfood. One of his recent podcast episodes talked about Talent Acquisition departments and if they should re-integrate with Human Resources departments. I understand that total collaboration between TA and HR is not always a popular view. Still, Hung Lee made some important points about how we position TA and HR functions and why closer strategic collaboration is relevant to our work as recruitment professionals. If I could encourage one collaborative recruitment strategy as a Netflix Recruiter, it would be to explore further how TA and HR can work together seamlessly and optimize productivity. For instance, we can view TA as a talent acquisition marketing function allowing HR more immersion in creating and administrating recruitment best practices."
