Good start, but the interviewer may perceive your response as a bit unclear. Try to avoid telling your salary expectations until you are offered the job, since the number you give may disqualify you as a candidate. If you're pressed to give a number, provide a salary range, with the amount you want at the low end of your range. If you're unsure of the salary range for the position, use the opportunity to ask about the pay range. I've provided a question you could ask.
