"I'd say my mom is my role model. She raised three kids by herself while working three jobs. When people ask her how she did it, she'd say, 'It takes a village.' She was humble and sacrificed so much for us and never complained, always putting others first. She'd say she was making a difference, and she did. She taught us to believe in ourselves, and she never stopped believing in herself. Eventually, she started a non-profit that helps others in her situation. Her non-profit is called The Village. It's one thing to go through some of the tougher times in life, but to always smile and laugh and put in the hard work. She always said that life is shaped by the way you look at it. I still believe in that. She's my hero."
