Examine how IBM views success among their teams and identify the qualities they aim to foster in their leadership. "People who feel heard and respected by their leaders tend to be more productive, engaged, and loyal. IBM's leaders foster an honest, inclusive, and authentic environment, because we believe that when our people understand the purpose of their work and how they fit into the big picture, they become personally invested in the project's success. Good outcomes are all but guaranteed. Today's leaders must be authentic, approachable, trustworthy, and motivating, creating an environment that empowers and engages employees."

"I have a very in-depth and successful system for evaluating success among my team members. I check in twice per week with each member of my team. On Mondays - to set our goals together. Then, on Fridays, to discuss any successes and challenges. I have them self-evaluate, and then we create a plan for success for the upcoming week. I evaluate their success based on their follow through and willingness to work hard to reach their goals."

I view success as sharing a sense of accomplishment with every team member, patting everyone, including myself, on the back, and looking forward to returning to work the next day."
