A job search isn't just a one-sided hunt. You have your goals, and your interviewer has theirs. The more you can identify what they are looking for in an ideal candidate, the better you'll be able to position yourself as an ideal fit. For starters, IBM refers to its employees as IBMers. The best way to do this is to narrow in on the aspects of the culture, work environment, and values you most identify with. So take the advice of one of their recruiters to position yourself as their ideal IBMer: "Apart from researching the role you applied to, make sure to also look into the culture of the company. An inclusive culture makes the work exciting and empowering!" Once you've determined this, you'll be better positioned to tell your interviewer what your ideal employer looks like. Be specific, and be sure to keep the conversation positive. Also, avoid speaking poorly of any previous managers or organizations.
