"The internet has opened endless possibilities when it comes to new artist promotion. If I were to put a plan into place for increasing record sales for lesser-known artists, I would begin with social media marketing efforts on YouTube and Instagram; primarily with Instastories. I would also seek out a collaboration between the new artist and a better-known artist from the Capitol Records label."

I would recommend executing a specific strategy based on the branding of the lesser-known artist. Building out the artist's platform, digital presence, and overall brand and then collecting the analytics around those efforts to see which audiences gravitate toward the artist organically. Then take that information and create custom campaigns based on furthering the foundation of the artist's brand while also penetrating the target audience's peak interest. The biggest thing to keep in mind is what works for some, won't work for others.
