"In my current role, our flight schedules are changed regularly and always at short notice. I have been able to adapt very well to these frequent, sudden changes. My approach includes making sure I understand the immediate change, analyzing the impact to the rest of the week, making the necessary adjustments, communicating the impact to everyone involved, and making any additional adjustments as needed. This process works well and I am confident my experience in this area will help me to respond to sudden changes if given the opportunity to join the team at British Airways."

Certain roles at British Airways require the utmost levels of agility in the face of sudden change. Walk your interviewer through a time from your recent past when you were presented with a significant shift in the workplace using the STAR Method (situation, task, action, result). Breaking your answer down in this way will help you demonstrate your ability to recognize change, determine the impact of the new priorities, formulate a tactical plan to move forward, and assess the results of the change.

"I regularly experience changes during flights as a member of the flight crew with my current airline. For example, my last flight had multiple periods of high turbulence that affected our ability to execute the drink and snack service. We had to start and stop the process several times during the flight. I spoke with the pilot and learned that the turbulence periods would continue, so we kept the carts stowed in the galley and walked orders out to the customers to keep things moving. We also communicated that we would be unable to come by to pick up the trash and let the passengers know they could either bring it with them to the front of the plane upon exiting or leave it at their seats. In my experience, sudden changes aren't a huge deal as long as you stay calm, use creative thinking, and communicate clearly with everyone involved."
