BECU wants to know that you have ambitions related to growing your career in the banking industry. When you have goals on the horizon, you show the interviewer that you have an interest in advancing your career and staying in your industry for a long time to come.
When you do not have goals set, the interviewer can interpret this as you being unmotivated and disengaged. Your goals can be as simple as finishing an online course, learning a new skill, or reaching a sales target.

"One achievement I would like to see this year is to make the top 3 for cross-selling at my current bank. My targets and goals are simple, but I like to exceed them, no matter what they are. The more successful my bank is, the better we can serve our customers."

I see myself in a managerial role. That's where I've set my sights then I'd like to explore developmental opportunities.

This is a great aspiration to have and definitely shows that you are ambitious and goal-focused. In order to make your response more impactful, I suggest providing details on exactly what type of management experience you're hoping to gain, along with what you're currently doing to work towards this goal. (Example: taking a management training class, shadowing your current manager, taking an additional certification course, etc.)

Honestly, I've moved recently to the US and my goal is to work at BECU, the first thing I did as soon as I got my work visa applied to work for BECU. My husband is a member and since the first time I went there and learned more about the company itself, I was amazed and felt it aligned with my values.
Marcie's Feedback
Wow! The interviewer will undoubtedly appreciate that compliment. Can you talk more about the values you believe you share with the organization? Also, what other steps have you taken to achieve this goal that you've set for yourself? Nice job!
